The second version of our exhibition project is now open at the Brighton Photo Fringe.  Smaller pictures this time, and including selected images from family albums.  In amongst the other shows the images (some only 2 x 1 inch big) are tiny, but it was interesting to work on something so small and to concentrate on the placement of the photographs.  Link to the Fringe listing for the show with all info is at http://www.photofringe.org/?p=262, the show runs until Sunday 14th November.

The Anachronistic Album installation shots

The Anachronistic Album show at photo-space in Limehouse ended last Saturday with a sucessful and very fun print auction in aid of ovarian cancer research. Here are some installation shots of this show  which was for us an all round great project.

Notebook 2 at the studio

Last weekend we had another open studio, Notebook 2. I printed up and displayed some of the most recent pictures from my shops project.  Melanie made a number or large prints of portraits she'd taken over the years of her partner Shaun, while Heather printed up a large tripdych of beach/sea pictures and a small one of visually connected singles. Again we had a great turn out at the opening and really interesting responses.

Friday 5th March - Sat 27th March
Opening night - Thursday 4th March, 6-9pm
Gallery open Tues - Sat, 11am-6pm

Three artists have invited an emerging curator to respond to their work. This exhibition will forefront the curators' choices and reasoning, rather than the artists' individual practice. The photographers are opening up their work, which jointly represents over 50 years production, as a vast image library. This unique show will create imaginary narratives across the artists' practice and reevaluate the work through discovering visual connections and disparities.

Our first open weekend at the studio in November: Notebook 1

The first notebook show was on at our studio from 20 Nov - 22 Nov 2009

Notebook: the process of making. The image in this exhibition are fragments or notations from ongoing or completed projects. This exhibition highlights investigation and discovery, and studies how individually insignificant moments may start to make a complete body of work.

It was a great success for us. Despite the wind and the rain we had a busy opening night and quite a few visitors over the whole weekend. Interesting new links made, ideas shared and even some work sold!
Here are some images from the Saturday afternoon.
